​Realizing the importance of learning speech & debate, a group of friends aimed to make a change in the debate community by providing accessible and quality learning to all. With a vision to provide a program where kids can have fun and learn simultaneously, Open Floor Debate was founded.

Our Purpose

At Open Floor Debate, our goal is to provide an accessible, affordable, and quality speech & debate program where anyone can learn. Our founders created this program to ensure that no matter the background nor the income would stand in the way of a child's ability to access high-caliber teaching, especially in a subject as crucial as speech & debate. We believe this program can help streamline social skills in children, allowing them to confidently interact with others despite their differences, as well as honing critical thinking skills and quick decision making.

Why Debate Matters

As high school students, the Open Floor Debate team understands the predicament when it comes to doing debate: why should a student or child dedicate so much attention and effort to debate when there are so many other extracurriculars? But here at Open Floor Debate, we view debate as something more than an extracurricular. Rather than merely something to fluff up an application or a resume, debate is an activity to help students develop the ability to convey their ideas to others. Simply put, we're not teaching your kids how to beat others: we're teaching your kids the skills to convince others in a way that puts them ahead of others in school, the workforce, or any other part of society.
